36 - Brake Lines

Rather than fabricating my own brake lines as described in the plans, I had previously ordered the Aircraft Specialty brake line kit for Beringer wheels and brakes. I began by installing the left and right brake lines in the tunnel as these run along the floor and are easier to install before the fuel pumps and lines.

Brake lines are held in place along the bottom of the tunnel using Adel clamps attached to the tunnel sides. I had to climb into the cabin to reach the forward most attach points, and used a stubby screwdriver to thread the #8 screws through the clamps into the nutplates

Brake lines exit the tunnel under the front seat and run below the fuel lines in this area

Brake lines attached to the F-6122-1 bracket on the firewall. These were just hand tightened for now until I attach additional brake lines to the other side of the bracket to run to the Beringer parking brake

3 adel clamps run along each side of the tunnel to securely hold the brake lines

The brake lines exit the tunnel at the firewall and are held by double Adel clamps and an AN3 bolt. The plans call for a #8 screw here, but K1000-3 nutplates were attached to the firewall necessitating the need for an AN3 bolt

After securing the brake lines in the tunnel, I riveted the forward Heat Duct Tee to the tunnel sides
